Welcome to our
April Newsletter

Happy Easter to our Customers, Friends and Families.

We hope you enjoyed the break and got to spend time doing the things that you enjoy.

Rain, Rain and more Rain!

We have seen large volumes of rainfall recently and it seems it will be hanging around for a little longer according to the long-range weather forecast.
We have been extremely busy with drainage problems, blocked drains and roof leaks.

Our team at Hughes Plumbing Contractors are fully equipped and ready for all your plumbing emergencies.

Out and About with MPAQ

Sonya was recently appointed an Ambassador role for Master Plumbers Qld.
Part of this role is for Sonya to attend a variety of information sessions and Careers Expo’s highlighting the importance of using licensed plumbers and for people to consider plumbing as a career.
Master Plumbers Qld is the organisation that assists the plumbing industry in a variety of ways such as advocating, representing, training and supporting all sectors. These are only a few of the many ways MPAQ helps.

For more information about Master Plumbers Qld please visit their website:

Last month, Sonya attended the Moreton Bay Carers Expo as part of this ambassador’s role.

What Have You Been Up To?

The team at Hughes Plumbing Contractors have been keeping busy doing what we do best – PLUMBING!
Here’s only a small selection of the many different jobs in the last month our team attended.

Commercial Eye Wash & Shower Stations Testing

Does your workplace have an eye wash or shower station that needs annual inspections?

What Will You Find in Your Sink?

Blocked sinks, drains and toilets are some things that residents usually have happen at some stage.
Take a look at what was blocking this drain.

Broken Distribution Box Lid

Like most of your septic system, the distribution box uses gravity. Liquid waste known flows into the box through one pipe and is divided evenly to exit through the drain system.

Roof & Gutter Leaks

With the recent rain events, we have been inundated with calls regarding roof and gutter leaks.
Where and why does my roof leak?
As you can see from the photos, leaks can be due to rusted old roof screws, silicone joins that have perished, rusted gutters or faulty downpipes. If these are left unattended, they can cause significant damage.
Here’s a few examples of why leaks occur.

Water, Water Everywhere!

A commercial property had an unexpected break in their water lines.
Check out the before and after photos below.
